I also do websites, nothing fancy, but my technique is to take Wordpress templates (generally the free ones) and then I take that underlying code and change it, making it your own, fitting your needs exactly.

My rates (USD):
Standard jobs: $35/hr
Logo Design: $75
Business Cards: $75
Websites: $150 base, $100 for each additional page
